Our environment makes our wines and our wines make us

Palliser Estate was part of the first wave of wineries to become established in the magical winegrowing region of Martinborough, with first planting in 1984. Concentrating initially on the classic varieties of pinot noir, chardonnay, riesling and sauvignon blanc, pinot gris has more recently been added.  The company has 85 hectares of premium land in Martinborough, and those older, early vines are now revealing their character in the wine. All these varieties have done exceptionally in the Martinborough wine district, producing award-winning ultra premium wines each year:

• The Palliser Estate label represents the company’s Reserve range of wines, exclusively from Martinborough fruit
• Pencarrow is the second tier brand, offering quality wines at an affordable price

The company is highly focused on protecting the environment in which its grapes grow, believing that the extraordinary uniqueness of this environment and the local terroir is represented in each and every bottle of wine we produce.  Palliser was the first wine company in the world to achieve ISO 14000 environmental accreditation.
