Margrain Vineyard

Complexity, charm and cellaring potential

Established in 1992 by Graham and Daryl Margrain, Margrain Vineyards has quietly cultivated a reputation for producing a wide range of exceptional wines that exude complexity and charm while offering great cellaring potential.

Winemaker Strat Canning has developed wines with distinct and consistent style,  ensuring the brand's integrity year after year since he joined in 1996:

  • Margrain Home Block Pinot Noir is the flagship wine: generally very savoury with an assertive texture and an enticing wet forest floor earthiness combined with rich black fruit flavours and a characteristically delicate smokiness wafting through
  • This is well complemented by the second label, Margrain Rivers Edge Pinot Noir. Based on grapes from younger vines, it is made in an easier drinking style that offers great value for money while still offering intriguing Pinot complexity.
  • The range also includes Pinot Gris, Riesling, Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Rosé, Chenin Blanc, Mad Red, a Methode Traditionelle and (when conditions are right) dessert wines.

Margrain is an ideal one stop vineyard experience: offering accommodation in the striking Margrain Vineyard Villas, as well as conference and function facilities.
