Great wines are made in the vineyard

A single vineyard estate located 8kms south of the village, this is a relatively new sub-area for Martinborough.  Nevertheless, the trophies, awards and accolades already received confirm the company’s beliefs about the quality of the site.  The estate is planted in pinot noir, pinot gris and sauvignon blanc.

Burnt Spur’s winemaking philosophy is simple: great wines are made in the vineyard. To achieve this, the vineyard is managed intensively by hand. Low yields and an emphasis on balance ensure production of high quality, terroir expressive, ripe, luscious grapes.
