Martinborough held their annual Vintage Trade day on Tuesday the 20th of April. Over 50 trade guests were transported to Martinborough for the day to partake in harvest activities with local wineries.
“This is a great opportunity for Martinborough wineries to thank our Wellington trade for supporting their local wine growing region, said Wines From Martinborough General Manager Kaylene Moore.
Trade guests were hosted by wineries and treated to a range of hands-on harvest experiences to include picking, sorting, crushing and testing.
At the end of a full day, guests were transported to Coney Wines for a formal tasting of over 65 current release wines from 20 Martinborough vineyards.
The evening concluded with a 30 year trade challenge quiz run by MC Nick Tansley, and a fabulous meal.
“Martinborough weather put on a stunning day for our trade guests and many were reluctant to leave on the 10pm bus back to Wellington, Kaylene reported.
“As New Zealand’s smallest wine region Martinborough excels in premium boutique wines. Trade guests valued the opportunity to get involved with vintage, taste great wines and have access to the people who made them.
