During the day you will meander by coach between Julicher Estate, Coney Wines, Croft Wines and Te Hera Estate meeting owners and winemakers, experiencing vineyard ambience and enjoying excellent local food matched to your host’s wines. Finish at 5pm having experienced all four wineries, fun and fellowship.
Tickets are $135pp and available from each participating winery, the Martinborough Wine Centre and Wineseeker in Victoria Street Wellington. Wellington’s Anniversary Weekend is ideal for spending a relaxed weekend in Martinborough with friends or family, or pop over the hill for the day (special coaches available from Wellington, $25pp, book with your lunch ticket).
The next day, Sunday 24 January 2010, is the immensely popular TK Day at Te Kairanga Wines, Martins Road, Martinborough. Wine lovers, families and groups of friends are invited to spread out around Te Kairanga’s grassy slopes to enjoy a glass of wine, picnic and good music. There are no gate sales, so get your tickets from the Te Kairanga cellar door or email cellardoor@tekairanga.co.nz in advance. Adults are $30, children 5-17 years old $5, and children younger than 5 years can come for free. Gates open at 10.30 am and close at 5pm.
You are welcome to bring your own picnic, and Providore’s delicious food will be available on site as well. Strictly no BYO alcohol. Until 2pm, Harbour City Electric funk/soul band plays, with Soul Estate and Bella Kalolo from 2pm. See www.tekairanga.co.nz for more information.
